Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 8, 2026
In short
- The time logs you create (clock-in/out times, breaks, notes, pay settings) are stored on your device and, if you enable it, synced through your own iCloud account. We do not operate servers that receive or store your time logs.
- The free version is supported by advertising. Third-party ad SDKs (such as Google AdMob) may collect device identifiers and approximate location to serve and measure ads, as described below.
- Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store / Google Play. We receive standard order information for fulfilment and support.
- No account or sign-up is required to use the app.
1. Information we (the developer) collect
We do not operate our own analytics or account servers and do not ask you to create an account. We receive only aggregated, non-personal information through the app stores (for example, download counts and store-provided diagnostics), which we use to improve the app. We do not sell your information.
2. Time-log data you create
Everything you record in the app — shifts, breaks, overtime, notes, employee and job profiles, hourly rates and pay settings — is stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, this data is stored in your own iCloud account and is managed under Apple's iCloud terms; we have no access to it. When you export a timesheet (PDF/CSV) or share it by email, AirDrop or another service, you are choosing to send that data — we do not see it.
3. Advertising
The free version of the app displays ads provided by third-party advertising SDKs, including Google AdMob and its certified partners. These SDKs may collect and process:
- Device identifiers such as the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA) on iOS or the Advertising ID on Android;
- Approximate location (coarse, not precise);
- App usage and interaction data needed to serve, measure and improve ads;
- Diagnostic / performance data reported by the ad SDK.
This data is used to serve ads and, where you have given permission, personalized ads. On iOS you will be asked for permission via the system's App Tracking Transparency prompt before any identifier is used for tracking across apps and websites. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or manage ad personalization in Google's Ads Settings (https://adssettings.google.com). Advertising SDKs process data according to their own policies: see Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob's data disclosure.
4. Purchases
Optional in-app purchases (premium subscriptions or one-time upgrades) are processed entirely by Apple or Google through their stores. They may share standard order information (product, date, transaction identifier) with us through the store's developer console so we can restore and support your purchase. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Store purchase data is subject to Apple's and Google's privacy policies.
5. This website
The website (shiftworklog.com) uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies and may record your IP address for statistical purposes. You can learn more and opt out at Google's privacy page (https://policies.google.com/privacy). The website does not require an account and we do not sell website visitor data.
6. Children
The app is rated for ages 4+ / 16+ depending on platform and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your choices & rights
- View, edit or delete any of your time-log entries at any time inside the app.
- Disable personalized ads via iOS App Tracking Transparency settings or Google's Ads Settings.
- Hide pay figures on screen with the app's show/hide pay option.
- Delete everything by deleting app data or uninstalling the app.
- Depending on your region, you may have rights (access, deletion, objection) under laws such as GDPR or CCPA — write to us below and we will act on them where applicable.
8. Data security
Your time-log data is protected by your device's own security measures (passcode, Face ID / Touch ID). Where iCloud sync is enabled, data is protected by Apple's iCloud security. We recommend enabling a device passcode.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “last updated” date. Material changes will be highlighted in app release notes where practical.
